Marche 1/200

Piazza del Popolo

Piazza del Popolo

Try to imagine if in the pixels imprinted on the icon Le Marche were broken down into geometric fragments that do not describe, but suggest: lines that intersect like medieval urban plots, curves that gently recall the course of the Adriatic, and surfaces that alternate between light and matter like hills that slope towards the sea.In this abstract balance we perceive the echo of Piazza del Popolo (Ascoli Piceno), with its Renaissance perfection, and the vertical tension of the Cathedral of San Ciriaco, suspended between architecture and horizon. The work does not show, but alludes: the compactness of the forms recalls the historical stratification of Urbino, cradle of humanist thought and the perspective vision of Piero della Francesca, while the chromatic contrasts evoke a land that lives between interior and coast, between rigor and openness.
