Try to imagine if in the pixels imprinted on the icon the Prato Cathedral was not just a cathedral, but a symbolic surface in which the sacred is shattered and recomposed into luminous geometries.The two-tone bands, a legacy of Tuscan Romanesque, dissolve into incandescent backgrounds, while the towers become vertical axes that connect earth and transcendence.The forms seem to retain an echo of medieval preaching, when architecture was a language and every detail a legible sign: here, however, that language breaks down, transforms, leaving room for a more instinctive, almost primordial vision.But stop for a moment: are we really just faced with a place of faith, or a more complex cultural construction?The city of Prato has made its cathedral an identity center, also linked to the relic of the Sacred Belt and the pictorial cycles of Filippo Lippi, which transform the space into a visual and theological story.In this abstract rereading, however, the narrative is fragmented: the surfaces no longer illustrate, but suggest.
